The little fish live in the seagrass with the big whale looking after them. Off they go to explore, one at a time, swimming up the arm of the chair and across the tray table, and then it is time to come home. Which spot was mine? Next to the whale. Under the tall grass. Someone is always the last one back, and someone is always missing until you count them. It is a small story about going out and coming home that children happily tell on repeat.
The seagrass is layered leaf by leaf and stitched strand by strand so it stands off the page, which is most of the work and all of the fun. Each fish has its own place to land, so the page tidies itself back to the same picture every time. Under the game there are position words, sea creature names, and counting everyone back in.
