Hi, I'm Bec. Welcome to Lemon Myrtle Lane, my little craft heaven.
I have been a crafter from a small age, with the influence of my very own mum, also a craft lover. I remember her making pyjamas, toys, sheets and quilt covers out of whatever my favourite thing was at the time. They were always special to me because my mum had made them for me. It meant a lot of late nights for her, waiting until we were in bed before she could start.
I had my eldest, and I have fond memories of him sitting on my lap at the sewing machine while we made stacking blocks. Then life gets busy, and new craft projects come along, mostly never finished.
Then my youngest arrived, a little girl. Wanting to get back into the swing of playing and fostering imagination, I started looking for things to make for her. Busy books popped up. Light bulb moment. I already had a ton of craft supplies I could use, so I started on the journey of making her her very own handmade busy book, made by me, her mumma.
I really enjoyed the process, and ended up making a book for a friend's little boy too. That sparked an idea: I could do this as a little business from home, fill my craft bucket, and have something that was me getting back to me after having a baby.
So here you are, visiting my little site, looking at the pages I make for little hands and minds. Less screen time, more imagination, and a bit of connection with your little ones. I would love to make something special for yours.
Some people call them quiet books, some call them busy books. Either way, they are felt pages with things to do on them: zips, buttons, pieces that come off and go back on.
