Rainbow Fish Page

The rainbow fish has the shiniest scales in the whole ocean, and the little fish would love just one. So it gives one away. Then another. Each glitter scale peels off and is pressed onto a small friend, until everyone has a bit of sparkle and the rainbow fish has made a lot of new friends. Then they all come home again and the story starts over. It is a gentle way into sharing and kindness, told with fingers instead of words, and it is also the page for the waiting room and the long drive: the scales overlap like real ones, so a thumb can run down the fish and feel every edge catch.

Six colours of scales layered over each other, with glitter felt between them to catch the light. Only the glitter scales come away, so the fish always keeps its shape. Colour sequencing, texture, and the page older siblings pick up when they think nobody is looking.
