First the toothpaste comes off the tube and goes onto the brush, which is a fiddly little job and the whole point of it. Then the hippo's mouth lifts open and there they are: a full set of teeth, and a hippo who has plainly been eating something he should not have. The brushing takes exactly as long as a two-year-old decides brushing takes. This is the page that gets carried to you at bedtime, which is either very helpful or a delaying tactic, depending on the night.
A hippo face with a muzzle that lifts to show the teeth behind it, a tube of toothpaste and a brush. The paste comes away from the tube and lands on the brush, both on velcro, and the brush stays on a cord so it cannot be used once and then lost. A sequence that has to happen in order, pretend play, and the fine motor of landing a small piece of felt exactly where it goes.
