The animals are waiting for their dinner and it is your child’s job to serve it. The carrot goes to the rabbit, the cheese goes to the mouse, the bamboo goes to the panda, and every so often the bear is handed the cheese just to see what happens. Feeding things is one of the first pretend games children play on their own, and this page gives them a row of hungry mouths and a reason to talk to each one.
Stitched pockets with an animal on the front and a set of food pieces to sort between them. Bee, mouse, panda, rabbit, frog, bird, dog and bear are in the family, each with the food that belongs to it. Matching, animal names and early “who eats what” reasoning. Reliably the first page the youngest ones reach for.
